Robert Becker discusses the wreck of the Frolic in 1850 and how that led to the birth of pioneer Mendocino. Robert discusses the relative mayhem of those days in California; and how pioneers made sense of unexpected opportunities.
Robert Becker is a veteran docent at the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse. He has taught at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. More recently, his essays have offered insights into our culture and politics.
