Sunday, June 26th, 2016, Lorraine Hee-Chorley, local author and resident historian of the Chinese community, will present a discussion of the history of the Chinese in Mendocino at the Kelley House Museum’s “Sunday Afternoon With . . .” program. From the popular “Images of America” series Arcadia book, written by Ms. Hee-Chorley, and titled Chinese in Mendocino County, we have the following: “Lorraine Hee-Chorley, [is] a fourth generation descendant of one of Mendocino’s first Chinese settlers and a director on the nonprofit board that is the guardian to the Temple of Kwan Tai.”
The program is offered in conjunction with the current exhibit at the Kelley House, “Mendocino’s Mirror: Reflections on Immigration.” Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the “Sunday Afternoon With . . . Lorraine Hee-Chorley” will be $5.00 to members of the Kelley House Museum; $7.00 to non-members.
