3/11 ALTERNATIVE HEALTHCARE IN MENDOCINO IN THE 1970s: Sunday Afternoon With Dr. Peter Barg & Frannie Leopold

 

 

 

Modern healthcare is a challenge for many, but what was it like fifty years ago on the remote and isolated Mendocino Coast? Come to the Kelley House Museum on Sunday, March 11, at 4 p.m. for “Alternative Health Care in the 1970s in Mendocino,” presented by Dr. Peter Barg and midwife Frannie Leopold.

The couple arrived on the Mendocino Coast in the early 1970s with the back to the land movement. They began serving the medical needs of the tiny, scattered coastal population, practicing together at the McCornack Center. They will relate experiences from their lifetime as medical practioners in an area and an era where patients are known by name.
