Discover why Mendocino was once known as the “Town of Water Towers” on this tour of several still-standing towers. Built in the late 19th Century to supply water to the town’s inhabitants, more than 100 water towers and accompanying windmills once adorned the landscape. As you admire the scenic beauty of coastal Mendocino during your walk through the historic district, our trained docent will reveal the town’s oldest, tallest, prettiest (some were quite ornate!), and strangest water towers.
