by Bill Brazill
An homage to Mendocino artists. Since 1959 when Bill and Jennie Zacha started the Mendocino Art Center, the town has become a magnet for artists and craftspeople. Real estate prices skyrocketed over the years, pricing out many artists, so Mendocino High School photography teacher Bill Brazill invited his students to profile 22 local artists, including Larry Fuentes, Olaf Palm, and Hilda Pertha. A black-and-white photo of each artist is accompanied by a brief biography, and a single color photo showcasing their art.
